Interstate is far from the end of our journey, in fact we are just getting started.  Interstate Distributor Co.  is celebrating 80 years in business. We may be 80 years old, but this old dog has many new tricks and 475 new Tractors arriving now! 

 

Over the years, Interstate has built a reputation of being a place where drivers are respected, valued, and most importantly are Safe.  It is hard to answer Life’s call if you are hurt or injured.  That is why we place Safety First in all we do.  It is a vital principle for running our business.   That is why every new Tractor has additional technology to help keep our drivers safe.  We launched a new footwear program to reduce slips and falls, and teach our office and driving associates about Value Driven Driving & Life.  We know what matters, so we can stay better focused on being safe. 

 

The average tenure of our drivers is 8.5 years.  Our drivers tell us they stay for the relationships, the friendly staff, and equipment.  Our new leaders are taking feedback from our Quarterly CEO Call, Driver Roundtables, Driver Advisory Board, and weekly calls to drivers to make improvements within our company.  Already this year we have made changes to driver pay, equipment specifications, and added service lanes to our shops based upon advice from our drivers.
